Attendees: Michal, Lesley, Bruce, Robert, Rose, Cecilia, Cathy,  John and Shannon.

Lesley read Centipede City, a political satire comparing an observation of a beach centipede to our government.

Cathy shared a first proof of her new book, Miss Nelson There is Something in My Pants, then read Morning Stillness, reflecting on "fairy dust rain" and the quiet of the ocean.

Michal read Robert's Difference. A masterful piece  of a new acquaintance who turned out to be an alien from Earth.

Bruce read Timeless, reminiscing about attending ball games at Tacoma's Cheney Stadium in his teens.

Rose's poem, Sharp as a Tack, reminds us that "winning doesn't depend on quickness and clout" but on wisdom and care.

Cecilia's poem, Hands, reflects on the  life of her hands - seeing her abundant life through her aging hands.

John entertained us with Golf Clubs With Clipped Wings, relaying techniques used as a golf course owner to control unruly golfers.

Michal read her hilarious Musings on Cooking with a twist of seagull humor.

Read her writing on our Spotlight page.

Attendees: Michal, Lesley, Marian,  Bruce, Robert, Rose, and Cecilia.

Robert, a newcomer in O.S. for one year, a retired musician, wowed us with his musical score and recording, titled Fading.

Mern (Marian) read  Lila, of gaining a wider and deeper understanding of a book club associate. Lila was an accomplished watercolor artist and life long friend.

Lesley read Cremation and Inside These Walls, fictious short stories attempting to incorporate all five senses in one and relationship, conflict, dialogue and setting in the other .

Bruce read Chapter 15 from his book,  Because My Destiny Awaits, about an 11-year-old losing her octogenarian friend.

Cecilia read The Obituary, about the death of personal creativity, that you can read in our Spotlight section.

Rose read August Walk, where a doe and "a find worth its weight in gold," grab  her attention - "a berry cluster enough to finish her blackberry pie."

Michal enlightened us on the difference between Cable News and Broadcast News. Broadcast News emphasizes accuracy, brevity, and clarity.

We ended the meeting with a five minute writing prompt: You find a strange looking egg in a forest and take it home. What hatches from the egg?
